In the corners of forgotten streets,
Where shadows linger and silence meets,
There dwells a world unseen, unheard,
Where lives are etched with sorrow's word.
In the creases of worn, weathered faces,
Lines of hardship leave their traces,
Eyes that once held dreams so bright,
Now dimmed by the harshness of endless night.
Children's laughter replaced by cries,
Echoes of hunger beneath empty skies,
Tattered clothes and worn-out shoes,
Symbols of a life that's paid its dues.
Beneath the weight of poverty's plight,
Hope flickers like a fragile light,
Yet amidst despair, resilience stands tall,
In the hearts of those who've faced it all.
For in the midst of life's cruel grip,
Kindness blossoms like a gentle tip,
Hands extended, hearts entwined,
In solidarity, humanity defined.
Let us heed the voices of the forgotten,
Their stories untold, their spirits unbroken,
With empathy and action, let us ignite,
A flame of change, a beacon bright.
For poverty's grip may be strong and wide,
But love and compassion are our guide,
To lift each other, side by side,
In a world where dignity will abide.
